Jean-Philippe starts to play guitar at the age of 18.
He takes part in several rock bands than turns himself to jazz, a very present music in his family's environment.
He decides to seriously study jazz guitar and to have lessons with Jean-Paul Florens (Marseille's guitar player ).
He gets to the music college of Marseille in Guy Longnon's jazz class where he obtains the gold medal.
During these years of studying he meets numbers of musicians.
Later, he forms a latin jazz sextet where he plays his compositions.
His formation performed in several jazz fest like Nice, Toulon, Carcassone, Chambery..., in first parts of Georges Benson, Claude Nougaro, Richard Galliano, Steve Coleman, Trilok Gurtu...

Currently he performs in quartet and keep on sharing his passion for jazz.
His repertoire is made of original compositions and standards where jazz flirts with Carribean and Brasilian music.
In the course of these years, a real complicity has taken place between musicians which is shared by the public.

For many years now, he teaches in several music schools and since 2004, in the Jazz dept. of Toulon's music college .
